== Stuff to do at the institute ==

Computer account: Go to Jörg Marks (03.403) or to the AZuBi-office (building, 01.552). Your account name is normally your last name.
Register your laptop: Go to Jörg Marks (03.403) or to the AZuBi-office (building ??, 01.552). You need the MAC address of your Ethernet card and wireless card.
UNI-id Account of the university: Go to Jörg Marks (03.403) and fill out a form. ~~You only need this account if want to send emails from home via your @physi.uni-heidelberg.de address.~~ This account can be used to log into EDUROAM.
Office Key: Go to Ralf Ziegler (building ??, 00.551). You need a deposit of 50€.
Entry in homepage: Go to Diana Horneck (02.213). ~~* Change in permissions for the phone in the office: Go to Diana Zeberer (02.213) ~~* If you want to eat at the Mensa (=canteen) you need a card to pay. This is either your student card (Masters/PhD) or a seperate card you get in the office on the ground floor of the mensa (Postdocs) with your contract.

== Stuff to do in Heidelberg ==

Register at the City Office of your district (Neuenheim, Handschuhsheim,...) within a week of your arrival. You might also ask there for a "non-crime record" (einfaches polizeiliches Führungszeugnis).
Go to the migration office (Bergheimerstrasse 69). You (might) need: Copy of passport, copy of contract, confirmation of health insurance, picture and confirmation of your registration in your district.
Get a tax card at the Finanzamt. You need to be registered and should bring a copy of your registration.
You need a health insurance. You might get automatically one, but you can change it within 14 days. Note: If your salary is above a certain amount, you can chose a private health insurance and don't need to take a public one. Ask the secretary for more details.
You need a German bank account.
