This file serves as the project file for QtCreator. QtCreator is a handy IDE for many languages, I prefer to use it for C++. It can serve for automatically creating Makefiles, with setting correct compilation flags it can also automatically build the executable. On top of this, the project files can be automatically loaded.
In this case it was only used for easier file manipulation. On top of this, specifying the CONFIG and PKGCONFIG, QtCreator can pick up ROOT libraries and automatically promtp the ROOT classes definitions.
